Boston, MA — January 19, 2009 — Covington Associates, a Boston-based specialty investment banking firm, announced the promotions of David Anderson and Mike Kent to Director. David and Mike both previously served as Vice Presidents.
Mike, who joined Covington in 2001, focuses primarily on the industrial, healthcare, and business services sectors. He has worked extensively with family-owned businesses in New England and across the country. In addition, in his nine plus years with Covington, Mike has helped facilitate more than $3B in merger, acquisition, divestiture, recapitalization, and financing transaction value. Mike previously worked as a management consultant with Camp, Dresser & McKee Inc., an environmental consulting firm. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.
David joined Covington Associates in 2004. He works as part of the Covington healthcare investment banking team with a particular focus on emerging medical technologies, healthcare information technology, and the clinical trial services markets. David has direct experience in both buy and sell side M & A and raising capital for emerging companies. Prior to joining Covington, David was with Boston Healthcare Associates, Inc., a specialty healthcare consulting firm. David holds a B.Sc and PhD in Immunology and a M.B.A. from Babson College.
